It’s not an interrogative statement. Does anyone seriously have the testicular fortitude to offer up an unassailable argument in demonstration of the falsity of this proposition?

What a beautiful word, Rob. "Assette" or "Asinine" am I unsure which I like better. Lets see which gets to Top of Pops the fastest and then we can debate what's wrong with the scoring system, the president and your prime minister. "Asswipe" is another great one.

I will say that I thoroughly enjoy myself as I attempt to discern the discourse from the doublespeak (in a good way)...whenever Ashes posts, I am never know what to expect.

robthewordsmith: too kind..and very humble. We both know that you could crush me in a nanosecond with both your intellect as well as your ability to write in any style (eg, serious post, satire, etc.)

And then there is the dude from the Grok who deserves compassion (got seriously injured in an accident), however he doesn't understand when to step back and not taint your thread. {I'll post separately on that cat since nobody that does the Grok thing would have a clue about his comment here.)

Thanks a lot; will be sending email to my distribution list late tonight to explain a few upcoming changes. ---- AshesRising

As one who appreciates satire, did you ever see the brilliant post by BryanE:
http://www.archive.org/iathreads/post-view.php?id=135890

Do yourself and read it, especially late at night after a shitty day. That post will take the dark out of the night... Regarding "Playin in the Band:" "Mensa is soliciting new members, sir, and you are obviously a shoe-in.... the musicians completely lost track of where they were and decided, after the course of half a dozen songs or so, to pound us over the head once more with the bulletin that they were 'playing in the band.'"

I read it almost every day. It is truly perfect.

Ashes - you, I know, will always get it. Crush you? No. Who breaks a butterfly upon a wheel?

AshesRising is a proud walker on the jingle-bell rainbow.

Look for awhile at the China Cat Sunflower
proud-walking jingle in the midnight sun
Copper-dome Bodhi drip a silver kimono
like a crazy-quilt stargown
through a dream night wind

Krazy Kat peeking through a lace bandana
like a one-eyed Cheshire
like a diamond-eye Jack
A leaf of all colors plays
a golden string fiddle
to a double-e waterfall over my back

Comic book colors on a violin river
crying Leonardo words
from out a silk trombone
I rang a silent bell
beneath a shower of pearls
in the eagle wing palace
of the Queen Chinee

If these lyrics don't suit our own (our very own!) Ashes, I don't know which do...(I am glad to say that the WT lovefest, brief as it was, is officially over and the much more justified AR lovefest has been in full swing for a number of days...).

It's so funny. I've been meaning to look up the lyrics to China Cat for about 18 years and never did. What's funny is the words I've been singing when I sing along. The words I sang aren't even close to that. Anyway...

I like American Beauty better but Ashes is a close second.

But when you spell his name backwards, you get:

Sehsa Ginsir

Who was an important figure in ancient Indian folklore, whereas with Beauty, you get:

Nacirema Ytuaeb

Who used to sell some kind of veggie wrap on Telegraph Ave.

Oh what nonsense, Tell. Everyone knows that Nacirema Ytuaeb was a high priest of the Inca. Enough with the disinformation!

Damn--so that's who he was named after...you learn something everyday. And then some.

mmmmm, I like veggie wraps. Now if Sehsa Ginsir was important for providing hungry folks with tasty Indian food, I'll reconsider.

hmmmm, I once unwrapped a girl I met on Telegraph Ave. The next morning I told her I was sari...she said sarong and left...

For greater authenticity in future replace the 'y' in 'away' with an apostrophe. i.e, awa'.
